History

In 1908, hotel owner Søren Folden had a new hotel built opposite Banegårdspladsen. In addition to the hotel building itself, which stood on three floors built in foundation walls with a slate roof, two half-roofs were also built.

When the hotel was handed over to Axel Clausen, the hotel was given the new name: Clausens Hotel. Clausens Hotel stood in its original red brick until director Ingolf Ledet had the hotel's facade plastered and whitewashed in 1973. The yellow Skawbohus was known for their inn/grill bar, where especially their steak sandwiches were very popular after a good trip in the city.

In 1987, Knud Simonsen took over the hotel where he renovated the entire hotel and created Discotheque Tifani, which was very popular among the local Skawbos. Here was blue velor furniture and mirrors on all walls, Skagen's most beautiful disco in its time.

April 2013 Gitte Nordmann took over Clausens Hotel where the hotel was renovated. The hotel changed its name to Foldens Hotel 2 and the hotel now offered a cozy and authentic restaurant. At this time, the hotel was an annex to Foldens Hotel, which was also used for larger events due to the large and beautiful ballroom.

In 2018, Gitte Nordmann chose to build a replica of the original building, of which there will be 27 new rooms in addition to the 10 existing rooms, here the hotel will be named Skagen Hotel, which oozes Skagenhygge, all rooms have been named after Skagen's famous sights, such as : Vippefyret, Anna Ancher and Grenen. In addition, the restaurant and hall were completely renovated in a newer and more modern style.
